Design Research, Product & Brand level Design Strategy
Here designers move out to see & have first-hand experience of the user, market & product life cycle including manufacturing, packaging, transportation etc. Several photographs and live recordings / movies are collected along with questionnaire, studied and analysed for an in-depth and unbiased understanding of different touch points of product life cycle.
Design Research can be conducted in Brand Level (Mother Brand or Child Brand) as well as in product or category level (product brand). At the end of the research and study, a detailed report will be presented to the business along with visuals and diagrams to have alignments on the observations, findings, gaps in offerings, opportunities & threats in that segment /market.
Product / Brand level design strategy is formulated along with the brand team considering the overall business strategy & capability (manufacturing/technology/network etc) of the business. Once strategic direction is frozen, a design strategy handbook along with examples and notional design solution is prepared for the business.
Process:
It’s a completely customized products/service based process, starts with a basic briefing from the client. Once having the understanding on the business and product lines, an approach note presented along with the process flow (pre-engagement consultancy fees are applicable).
